Is there dust or odor during the installation process?

Universal prides itself on having a completely dustless and odorless process. Our equipment sucks up all dust before it is able to escape into the air. We also only use products that are 100% solids epoxy which have no harmful solvents in them.

What is 100% solids epoxy?

100% solids epoxy is a two-component industrial coating that contains zero volatile solvents. It is an extremely high durability product and maintains its thickness throughout the curing process compared to 80% solids products for example. An 80% solids product contains solvents that evaporate during cure resulting in a thinner dry film thickness compared to its wet film thickness.

How quickly can I return to service after installation?

Universal uses fast cure products which greatly decreases the return to service time. After installation is complete we recommend 24 hours before return to service.

What is the best way to clean my epoxy floor?

Epoxy floors can be simply washed down with warm water. For dirtier areas you can use a non-aggressive cleaning product such as Pine-Sol diluted in warm water.

What are the color options for epoxy floors?

Please refer to our color charts to see the options for solid colors, vinyl chip blends, and metallic pigments.

How long will my floor last?

Like everything, the better you take care of it the longer it will last. That being said, epoxy floors are extremely durable and with proper care can last well beyond 5 years.

Can epoxy be installed in a freezer?

Yes it can! Although lower temperatures increase the curing time and turnaround time on a project, we have done many freezers.

Does my whole facility need to be shutdown during installation?

This depends on how much work is being done in a facility. We work with clients to shutdown certain areas at a time to avoid complete shutdowns. For smaller projects that are not in the direct area of production, we can complete our work without any shutdown. Using our odorless and dust free system, you will hardly notice we are there.
